  Mark Bogus

  Mark founded A-Plus Tree Service in 1991. He had previously worked for Bloom Tree Service and OPPD as a utility line clearance arborist for his full-time job, and began his own tree care business working by himself in the evenings and weekends. As a self-educated man, he grew up in rough conditions and was forced to learn the value of hard work and perseverance. His upbringing, dedication to quality, and ability to connect with people has earned him the impressive reputation that he has today.

  Mark worked both his full-time job and side business for two years before making the difficult decision to leave his job and turn all of his attention to A-Plus Tree Service. With an old truck and trailer, a few chainsaws and climbing gear, he would tackle jobs by himself with the occasional help from a part-time college student. As one of the two tree care businesses in town, he quickly acquired a long list of jobs and a great reputation. From an old truck and trailer to a fleet of trucks and highly-specialized equipment, Mark built a successful small business with his bare hands.

  As a NAA certified arborist and with nearly 40 years of experience in the industry, Mark is the voice of wisdom for the A-Plus Crew. In his free time he enjoys hiking, biking, woodworking and playing with his 2 grandons.

  Brandon Bogus

  As the son of a tree care business owner, Brandon grew up immersed in the field of arboriculture. At age 14 he started working with his dad (Mark, founder of A-Plus Tree Service) and soon the love for tree care was coursing through his veins. Starting with simple clean-up tasks, he worked his way up to operating chainsaws and aerial lifts.

  Although his love for trees was strong, he wasn’t sure about making a long-term career out of it. He graduated university in 2015 with a degree in Psychology and after a life-changing trip to Costa Rica decided to start working in tourism while living in the tropical, Central American country.

  After a few years and many wonderful experiences (including a 5 month backpacking trip to South America), Brandon was called back to the trees. In 2018 he and his wife decided to move to Nebraska, start a family and take over A-Plus Tree Service while his father worked towards retirement. By 2020 he was officially the owner and acquired several arborist certifications.

  Brandon enjoys operating the new Fassi 600 grapplesaw crane and takes great pride in seeing the A-Plus Crew take the business to new heights. He loves traveling with his wife and 2 young boys, playing guitar/drums and experiencing new places, activities, people and food.

  Seth started doing tree work in 2017, at the young age of 17. His first few years were spent on the ground operating chainsaws, mini skid steers and handling rigging lines. He worked under many experienced climbers, sparking his interest in the latest techniques and gear. Since joining A-Plus in June, 2021 he has gained a great deal of experience climbing, operating our aerial lift and leading trim crews.

  Towards the end of 2022, Seth proudly earned his NAA (Nebraska Arborist Association) Certification, further expanding his knowledge and expertise in the field. As one of our top crew leaders he possesses the skillset to do a little bit of everything on the job-site, which is what he truly enjoys about tree work. His passion shines through each day and creates a positive work environment for everyone.

  His favorite hobbies include camping, hiking and off-roading. Family and friends are most important in his life.

  Michael

  Michael enjoys his role working alongside Brandon to manage and guide the business. He finds it rewarding to tackle challenges big and small, putting ideas into action and seeing them lead to successful outcomes. His ability to oversee the team’s work and lead them to success showcases his commitment and strategic thinking.

  A memorable project for him was with a construction contractor and the city of Milford. This job had the full crew and all equipment in use, functioning seamlessly like a well-oiled machine. It was a long day, but watching everyone excel in their roles was rewarding. The team ended the day sharing dinner on the hood of a truck as the sun went down, celebrating their hard work.

  Michael brings valuable experience to the team, including past roles in sales and business management. He holds a Class A CDL and is currently working towards his ISA Arborist Certification, underscoring his dedication to professional growth.

  Outside of work, he enjoys cars and golf, spending time on these activities to unwind and have fun.

  Joshua, originally from Florida, moved to Nebraska in April 2023 and has since become an integral part of our team. He spent a significant part of his life engaged in tree work and land clearing, a passion that he cultivated in his youth. He thrives when operating our advanced equipment, which plays to his strengths and interests.

  Joshua’s love for the outdoors extends beyond his professional life. He is an avid camper who enjoys preparing a delicious smoked pork shoulder and spending quality time boating and tubing on the water with his kids. His enthusiasm for the outdoors and his expertise in our field make him a perfect fit for our team.

  Santos

  Santos thrives in his role, where he lives out his passion for operating machinery. His favorite experiences involve running the mini skid steer and the Avant (compact wheeled loader) showcasing his technical skills in our dynamic work environment.

  A standout moment for him was a project at Woodcliff, witnessing the 600 and 390 grapplesaw cranes in action for the first time. This large-scale operation highlighted not only the capabilities of our equipment but also his joy in seeing a challenging job well-executed, making it a memorable highlight of his career.

  Outside of work, Santos enjoys spending time with his friends in Omaha, exploring new places, and making the most of every weekend.

  With a Class A CDL, Bryan is a key player in our operations, leveraging his certification to enhance daily productivity and ensure the safe transportation of our equipment.

  Outside of work, Bryan is passionate about personal growth and family. He enjoys playing guitar, training in mixed martial arts, and cherishing quality time with his family.

  Jose is passionate about operating large chainsaws and thrives during the storm season when his skills truly shine. He vividly remembers the excitement of removing giant trees from houses, a challenging task that he managed with skill and precision.

  Jose takes pride in his ability to maintain and operate chainsaws efficiently. His dedication to mastering his tools ensures the highest quality of work in every project.

  Outside of his professional life, Jose has a keen interest in video games and music. He often indulges in horror podcasts, which captivate his imagination and provide a thrilling escape from the everyday routine.

  Cheryl

  Cheryl enjoys talking with our customers and seeing how pleased they are when our work is done. She has enjoyed learning about all the processes involved in the tree service business. Watching the crew work together on a job site is like watching a well-rehearsed orchestra to her.

  Cheryl graduated from the University of Denver and has over 35 years of experience in accounting and management, making her a key part of our team. Her knowledge helps the bank-end of our business run smoothly and successfully.

  When she’s not working, Cheryl likes taking walks with her golden retriever, spending time with her family and friends, and traveling to new places.
